A team of experienced doctors and specialist nurses from the Department of Anaesthesiology cares for all patients before, during and after a surgical procedure and ensures the safe administration of more than 7500 anaesthetics per year.

Patients with serious pre-existing conditions or after major operations can receive further care from specially trained intensive care nursing staff on the interdisciplinary intensive care unit, which is equipped with state-of-the-art technology. Patients who require artificial ventilation or other organ-support procedures also receive intensive medical care here.

For postoperative pain management, all departments of the hospital have jointly developed a modern pain concept that enables individual treatment of symptoms and is tailored to the patient's subjective perception of pain and the type of surgical procedure.
