Good pain therapy with few side effects gives patients a better quality of life, increases the chances of recovery and makes an important contribution to shortening the duration of treatment. It is an integral part of the Department of Anaesthesiology and of the entire Evangelisches Diakoniekrankenhaus. Individual treatments are carried out together with the hospital's specialist departments and the patients themselves, and postoperative pain can be treated using selected catheter techniques.

In addition, special pain therapy techniques such as peripheral or epidural pain catheters are used and checked daily by a doctor and a nurse with further training in algesiology (Pain Nurse).
All professional groups involved in the treatment work together towards the goal of providing patients with effective and safe pain therapy.

A further focus of our department is the treatment of tumour pain and chronic pain in our private outpatient clinic, using all the options available today. These patients in particular benefit from optimal medical care that extends beyond the hospital stay. An experienced pain specialist is available as a point of contact at all times.
