Hygiene

Hygiene and infection control at the Evangelisches Diakoniekrankenhaus

Hospital hygiene management is a central aspect of quality assurance at our hospital. The hygiene concept, established for many years, is reviewed at regular intervals against current hygiene regulations and continuously developed further.

We fulfil our responsibility in terms of staffing through a state-certified infection control nurse, senior physicians and nurses with designated hygiene responsibilities, and hospital hygienists from the German Advisory Centre for Hygiene (Deutsches Beratungszentrum für Hygiene). Their measures range from internal training for staff to a dedicated hygiene committee that meets twice a year.

Regular hygiene inspections, ISO certification (ISO 9001), microbiological testing and close communication with our in-house cleaning service guarantee our hygiene standards. To combat multidrug-resistant pathogens, we are also involved in the hygiene campaign “Keine Keime” (“No germs”) and are a member of the MRE-Netzwerk Freiburg/ Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald. We have also already been awarded our sixth gold certificate in the nationwide “Aktion Saubere Hände” (Clean Hands Campaign) for the prevention of hospital infections.

Taken together, these components form an overall concept that provides a solid foundation you can rely on.
After all, your protection and well-being are very close to our hearts – and that is what we are committed to.
