Our Breast Centre

The Breast Centre South Baden is a partnership of

• Evangelisches Diakoniekrankenhaus Freiburg,
• Kreiskrankenhaus Emmendingen and
• several specialised medical practices,

which have set themselves the goal of providing optimal care for patients with breast diseases.

As part of this partnership, the Evangelisches Diakoniekrankenhaus Freiburg has been continuously certified since 2004 in accordance with the requirements of the German Cancer Society (Deutsche Krebsgesellschaft) and the German Society for Senology (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Senologie).

The key element of the Breast Centre is the weekly tumour board, at which an individual treatment plan is agreed for each patient based on the latest international knowledge and current guidelines. Here, experts from a wide range of specialties work hand in hand to develop a treatment concept that meets the highest standards of professional quality and to avoid unnecessary examinations. The treatment proposal prepared at the tumour board is then discussed and agreed with you by your attending doctor in a one-to-one consultation.

In addition to minimally invasive procedures and breast-conserving surgical treatments, the full spectrum of modern surgery with aesthetic reconstruction of the breast is available to you. We also offer corrections of breast shape as well as breast reduction.

Care on the ward is provided by nurses who have received special medical, psycho-oncological and interpersonal training in caring for patients with breast diseases.
