For Parents

All about birth

The birth of a child is a miracle. It is one of the most significant events in the life of a child and its parents. For our department, accompanying children on their way into life is a responsible and also deeply rewarding task.

We encourage you, as a mother-to-be, to have a self-determined birth and offer you our experience and competent support. To ease labour, we use elements of hypnobirthing. In addition, a wide range of naturopathic and conventional pain relief is available to you (as well as epidural anaesthesia, PDA). Should a caesarean section be necessary, it is usually performed under regional anaesthesia (epidural, spinal anaesthesia) with the father present.

Because you as mother/father and your child are always at the centre of our efforts, we give young families time and space after the birth in the delivery suite, and afterwards on the maternity ward, to get to know each other largely undisturbed. This “bonding” creates an intense bond between the newborn and its parents, which helps them enjoy the early days.
