Many parents feel connected to the maternity ward at the Evang. Diakoniekrankenhaus across generations. Freiburg photographer Anette Kauerz has captured the uniqueness of the maternity ward in a photographic concept.

On the theme of "Being connected", the multi-generation pictures are located in the front area of the ward. They show two to three generations who were all born at the Ev. Diakoniekrankenhaus, from grandmother to grandchild. All pictures were taken on the ward and show the portraits in profile, so that viewers can go on a voyage of discovery and perhaps spot resemblances between them.

In the middle section of the corridor are the family pictures taken during a baby or family photo shoot. They show families whose children were all born at the Evang. Diakoniekrankenhaus.

In the rear section of the ward are the bonding pictures. Bonding promotes the baby's basic trust through direct skin-to-skin contact with the parents after birth.
