Thyroid surgery
Our hospital has had a high level of expertise in thyroid surgery for many years.
With approx. 300 operations per year, we have sufficient experience to perform the procedure with the greatest possible safety. When performing thyroid surgery, it goes without saying for us that you will be operated on by surgeons with decades of experience in thyroid surgery. As a matter of principle, we perform neurophysiological monitoring of the vocal cord nerves during the operation, and the parathyroid glands are always identified in order to minimise any disturbances in calcium balance after the operation. The procedure is always performed under general anaesthesia; as a rule, you can leave our hospital two days after the operation. Should it turn out that a malignant thyroid disease is present, we also perform – where necessary – an extensive lymph node removal according to oncological criteria during the initial procedure or a short-term second procedure.
