Diagnostics
Diagnostics at the Continence and Pelvic Floor Centre South Baden are carried out in a structured and individual manner according to the respective symptoms and the clinical question. The aim is a differentiated assessment of the underlying functional disorder and, based on this, the planning of the appropriate therapy.
The diagnostic spectrum includes in particular:
- Medical history and clinical examination: recording of symptoms, previous illnesses and previous treatments, as well as targeted pelvic floor and functional diagnostics
- Urine diagnostics: examination of the urine, including urinalysis and, where indicated, urine culture to rule out or detect a urinary tract infection
- Sonography: ultrasound examination of the urinary tract and pelvic organs as well as assessment of bladder function and residual urine
- Urodynamics: functional diagnostics of the bladder and urethra for differentiated investigation of storage and emptying disorders
- Cystoscopy: endoscopic examination of the bladder and urethra where indicated
- Further diagnostics: depending on the clinical question, proctological, radiological or other specialist diagnostics are carried out in addition
The findings are assessed on an interdisciplinary basis, taking into account the clinical symptoms, and form the basis for individual treatment planning.
