For most patients, the diagnosis and treatment of cancer is not only a physical but also a great emotional burden. The situation is new and comes with many questions and fears.
Patients themselves, but also their relatives, may experience anxiety, tension or feel overwhelmed. Psycho-oncological and/or pastoral conversations during the inpatient stay aim to support you in coping with the illness and, where possible, to relieve and strengthen you.
If you wish, internal and external psycho-oncologists and chaplains are available to support you.
External contact
We cooperate with the Praxengemeinschaft Psychotherapie und Psychoonkologie in Freiburg (Praxis PPPO), a group practice for psychotherapy and psycho-oncology, which comes to the Evang. Diakoniekrankenhaus weekly for consultations.

Internal contact person
On request, Ms Dorothee Meyer-Mybes, hospital chaplain and psycho-oncologist, is available to you. She is also the psycho-oncology coordinator at the Colorectal Cancer Centre.
