Nursing care at the Diakoniekrankenhaus is in the hands of our registered nurses. Holistic patient care by our expert nursing team is at the centre of our attention 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Respectful, appreciative support for all patients is a key focus of our work. The patient is at the heart of everything we do. By this we mean helping people regardless of person, gender, origin or religion.
We want to create opportunities to accompany and help people in special life situations such as birth, illness, recovery, dying and death. In doing so, we strive to provide holistic care for our patients in keeping with the Christian view of humanity.
In an initial conversation, we ask about individual wishes, resources, abilities and limitations in order to draw up an individual care and support plan. Building on this, we agree the nursing and therapeutic measures together with the patients in order to achieve the goals set.
For us, this includes:

- involvement in shaping the individual care development process
- continuous exchange of information with patients and within the interdisciplinary team
- creating an appreciative and trusting atmosphere in which relatives and close persons also feel welcome at all times and actively involved

- professional nursing expertise and various concepts that are continuously reviewed and further developed
- specialist expertise through numerous internal and external training courses for staff
- integration of nursing rounds and case presentations
To achieve the agreed nursing and therapeutic measures, our work includes, among other things, following nursing guidelines and integrating international and national expert standards. To raise the level of quality, evidence-based nursing is essential to everything we do.
