Visiting rules

at the Evangelisches Diakoniekrankenhaus Freiburg

The following rules of conduct apply to visitors (and all other external persons) in our hospital:

• If you have signs of an acute infectious disease (e.g. respiratory infection, gastrointestinal infection), we ask you to refrain from visiting.
• Visits are permitted with very mild symptoms of a respiratory illness. In these cases, a mouth-and-nose mask must be worn correctly at all times.
• Visits by persons who currently have a COVID-19 infection are not permitted under any circumstances.

Visiting hours on the wards:

• 08.00 - 20.00
• Due to internal procedures and to avoid unnecessary waiting times, we recommend visiting from 11.00.

Special arrangements must be agreed with the respective ward.

Visiting hours in the intensive care unit:

• 09.00 - 13.30
• 14.30 - 20.00

For seriously ill patients, visits outside visiting hours are also possible by arrangement with the nursing staff. Please note that no more than 2 visitors per patient are permitted in our intensive care unit.

Visiting hours on the maternity ward:

• The midday rest period from 13.00 – 15.00 should be observed by everyone.
• Outside this fixed midday rest period, fathers and siblings are always very welcome from 08.00 - 19.00.
• General visiting hours on our maternity ward are from 15.00 – 19.00.

Outpatient appointments:

Due to space constraints, we ask that you be accompanied by a maximum of two persons for outpatient appointments in our outpatient clinics or for outpatient operations. Exceptions can of course be discussed with the respective outpatient clinic.
