Nothing works without electricity – become an expert in electrical engineering!
Whether lighting, power supply or complex technical control systems: reliable electrical engineering is indispensable in a hospital. For medical areas and technical installations to function safely, numerous electrical systems must work together reliably.
In the apprenticeship as an electronics technician for energy and building technology, apprentices get to know the diverse electrical infrastructure of our hospital. They work with sophisticated installations, get to the bottom of technical faults and learn to rectify malfunctions systematically. In this way, step by step, they develop the expertise to understand complex electrical relationships and to become sought-after experts themselves.
What to expect in your training
The focus is on the upkeep, maintenance and repair of our electrical installations as well as on smaller conversion and installation work. Trainees get to know the technical challenges of running a hospital and work on installations whose reliable functioning matters every single day.
- Getting to know complex electrical engineering: You gain insights into the electrical infrastructure of a hospital and learn how power supply, lighting, control systems and other technical systems interact.
- Servicing and maintaining installations: You assist with the regular inspection of electrical installations and help to ensure their safety and functionality.
- Finding and fixing faults: You learn to analyse electrical faults systematically, narrow down their causes and find suitable solutions.
- Repairing and modernising: You take part in repairs, the replacement of electrical components and smaller conversion projects.
- Understanding control and safety technology: You learn how different control and monitoring systems work and discover how important they are for the reliable operation of a hospital.
- Becoming a technical expert: With every new task, you deepen your specialist knowledge and develop an understanding of the complex electrical engineering interrelationships of a modern hospital.
What you should bring
Are you interested in electrics and technology, do you enjoy practical work and would you like to understand how electrical installations work? Then you have a good foundation for this profession!
Technical understanding, manual dexterity and a careful way of working are particularly important. You should also enjoy solving problems, work reliably in a team and take pleasure in getting to grips with new and challenging technical topics.
Training with responsibility and prospects
The training usually lasts 3.5 years and takes place at the training company and at vocational school. With us, you will gain a wide-ranging insight into the electrical infrastructure and technical systems of a hospital.
You will learn to understand electrical installations, to systematically rectify faults and to recognise technical connections. Step by step, you will take on more responsibility and develop into a qualified specialist for demanding electrical engineering tasks.
After the training, numerous further training opportunities are open to you, for example to become a master craftsperson (Meister) or technician. This gives you a solid foundation for your professional future in a technically diverse and responsible working environment.
