Osteopathy during pregnancy, the postnatal period and beyond

Osteopathy is a holistic form of medicine used to diagnose and treat functional disorders of the body. During pregnancy, osteopathy can prevent complaints prophylactically and treat complaints that have already arisen. It can be used for all pregnancy-related problems as well as for states of exhaustion or mood swings.

Optimal conditions for development are created for the unborn child. In preparation for the birth, it is advisable to examine the pelvis for blockages, even if there are no complaints, and to release them if necessary, in order to reduce malpositions of the baby and to harmonise the course of labour. This is particularly important if problems occurred during previous births. The course and duration of labour are positively influenced. During the postnatal period and the time afterwards, osteopathy helps, for example, with: delayed postnatal recovery, wound-healing disorders, back pain, pelvic floor problems, breastfeeding problems, as well as mood swings and difficulty finding inner calm.

Osteopathy for babies can identify and release restrictions of movement or blockages, thereby promoting healthy development of the child.
