Sports gynaecology clinic

(self-pay service – iGEL-Leistung)

Sports gynaecology deals with the particular interactions between physical activity and women’s health. It considers how sporting exertion can influence hormonal, reproductive and physical processes and offers targeted solutions for health challenges and athletic performance.
We offer you expert advice and support on all questions relating to sport and gynaecology.

Our clinic is aimed at women in every phase of life who are physically active or would like to become so. We cover a broad spectrum:

  • RED-S (Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport) https://www.dshs-koeln.de/fileadmin/redaktion/Institute/momentum/pdf/Infografik_RED-S.pdf
  • Menstrual cycle (irregularities) related to sporting exertion
  • Sport during pregnancy and after birth
  • Pelvic floor problems
  • Individual advice on balancing sport and women’s health

Please note that the sports gynaecology consultation is an individual health service (IGeL – Individuelle Gesundheitsleistung) that is not covered by statutory health insurance. You do not need a referral for your visit.

Our aim is to offer you well-founded, professional care in the field of sports gynaecology. Please feel free to contact us for an appointment (see appointment request below) or for further information on: 0761 1301-2400

For RED-S, cycle-related or general sports gynaecology advice: please bring a cycle record covering the last 2–3 months and a food diary (if available) to your appointment.

Please complete the medical history questionnaire and return it by e-mail 3 days before your appointment to sportgyn.freiburg@diak-fr.de.
