Liver
(anatomical resection, atypical resection)
The liver is one of the organs most frequently affected by metastases from colon and rectal cancer.
Owing to the high number of operations we perform for malignant tumours of the colon and rectum, we also have extensive experience in the removal of liver metastases. Depending on the findings and location, the metastases are removed either atypically, i.e. preserving as much liver tissue as possible, or anatomically (along precisely defined boundaries). During the procedure we always use intraoperative ultrasound for precise localisation, as well as modern instruments for haemostatic tissue division.
