Partial colectomy for benign conditions

Partial colectomy for benign conditions

We have enjoyed a supra-regional reputation for many years for the removal of a section of the large intestine (colon) due to benign diseases (in particular chronic recurrent sigmoid diverticulitis). With approx. 400 laparoscopic colorectal operations per year, we can assure you that this procedure is performed with the greatest possible competence and expertise.

The operation is almost always performed using a minimally invasive technique, so that you can usually be discharged after just under a week. For care before and after the operation, we follow the principles of “fast-track surgery”. This means, for example, that you do not need bowel cleansing before the operation, that you can drink freely and eat yoghurt on the day of the operation itself, and that you can eat a normal meal the following day. We do not insert drains or nasogastric tubes. You can actively contribute to your recovery by getting out of bed and moving about as much as possible.

Further information can be found in the information brochure.
