Abdominal wall hernia repair (IPOM)

This surgical technique is used for incisional and abdominal wall hernias. A special coated plastic mesh is inserted minimally invasively in the abdominal cavity in front of the hernia defect. The advantage of this procedure is that, in incisional hernias, the previous surgical scar is not reopened, so the structure of the abdominal wall is not disturbed again. However, as the procedure is not suitable for all types of hernia, we will be happy to advise you on whether this surgical technique is an option for you.
