Thanks to training under one of the world’s most renowned pancreatic surgeons (Professor Dr. Dr. h.c. M. Trede), our department has extensive experience and a high level of expertise in performing pancreatic surgery. The great expertise of our Department of Gastroenterology in the field of pancreatic diseases ensures close interdisciplinary exchange and complementary endoscopic/interventional procedures. For tumours in the area of the head of the pancreas (whether inflammatory or malignant), we preferably perform the "Traverso" operation. This allows the stomach to be preserved completely.
